Cyclepath Kelowna introduced the Sprockids 8 week program to Kelowna in the Spring of 2015 with great success and it continues.
The 2019 edition was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But we're looking to the future and look forward to arranging this program again when it's safe to do so.
What is Sprockids?
Sprockids is an instructional program designed to engage young people, ages 6 to 18 years, in mountain biking. Cycling provides a positive focus for youth, develops self-esteem, provides kids with a strong sense of community, and introduces them to a healthy active lifestyle. The program teaches off-road skills through drills, games, and fun activities; while tracking individual progress.
Sprockids leaves no kid on the sidelines, cyclists of all abilities are celebrated and invited to participate.
Sprockids was founded almost 3 decades ago in Canada by elementary educator Doug Detwiller; and now operates in 19 countries. Giant Bicycle and Liv Cycling are delighted to be associated with Doug and Sprockids.
